Akira Fantasy - Bar interior

How would Akira look like in a Final Fantasy world?
This is a concept art personal project where I developed tried to develop these ideas.
I want to thank Keshan Lam for his amazing feedback during the whole project 🎉

I started with some layout explorations. Then I tried to populate the scene with props. I think those are the elements that give life to the environment.

I imagined the bar like a lively place where people gather and have fun. I enjoyed drawing each character on the scene :)

The bar and the props are key in my opinion. I made some explorations on the main elements. It's the part that I enjoy the most: exploring shapes, silhouettes, etc.

I was thinking of a jazz bar in the 50's or so. I got inspired by the "Porco Rosso" scene where the lady sings.

I imagined how would be the bar late at night, before closing. Only the hardcore guys stay there.

Each keyframe has a 3D base, made in Blender. I use the 3D models just to have a base, explore camera angles, etc. It's very helpful and speed up a lot the painting process especially in the early stages.
